Me in Little Italy...Memories fade, but the scars still linger
This is where it all started on July 5th.  The Big Apple - The Great White Way, Central Park, Madison Avenue...MACY'S   oh, the people, the sounds, the sights, the smells, (oh GOD the smells) in the height of glorious summer?  How can I give up the crowded subways, the heat-crazed cabbies, the non air conditioned apartment...Why would I want to leave?     Cuz I CAN....that's why....
This is Uncle Duck and Aunt Cyndi
First stop, Houston, TX  Lazing in the pool with Aunt Cyndi and cousin Kayla, swatting at skeeters, slathering on the sun screen, eating soggy potato chips. In Cyndi's words, "I tell you what, there ain't nothing like cokes over ice in the sunshine."  I love being here with my family...my aunts and uncle and cousins and my grandfather!  I love 'em all so much as nutty as they are, cuz I know where they get it....
This is me and Paula "works in progress"
Saturday Night in Houston...me and Aunt Maggie and baby Paula...well not such a baby anymore) had mexican food at the Cadillac Bar - margaritas aren't just for breakfast anymore, then we played beauty parlor with masques, and moisturizers and assorted products.  Following big bowls of Bluebell homestyle vanilla, I slept like the dead, and woke up to Krispy Kreme donuts and good strong Loosiana coffee- heaven - burp - heaven!

CAJUN COUNTRY
I was born a coon ass on a bayou somewheres in Louisiana, so I always honk like a fool as I drive over the Sabine River.  Honey!  I'm home!  Ate more bar-b-que here than I have in the last year. Spent time with my grandma, my aunts and cousins...The weather is hot, but everyone has a/c.  My purple car, thanks to Don's flush and fill is running GREAT!

The Old Hicks' Place
Next, a day of decadence at pop's place.Tin Roof - RUSTED! He left me a key and I enjoyed some solitude, watched the hummingbirds battle it out and took a bubble bath outside. Then, a quick trip back to Houston to see Aunt Sue who is very ill.. .:-(
Ah takes mah bath ever' month...whether ah needs it or not!!
