SAW's Sportsmen's Corner

This page is dedicated to new friends I have met on the net. I have not met each personally but hope to soon. My contacts with these gentleman have been enjoyable and educational. Just a good group of guys!

I gotta start with my friend, BW. I have met this guy and am proud to know him. He is an accomplished chaser of turkeys and whitetail deer and he loves to hunt with a simple stick and string. He has taken much better deer but I had to post this picture because he finally sent me one with his eyes open!

Here's BW with his 99 muzzleloader buck.This guy was taken from what I'm told was a "leftover" stand. Had his daughter been able to hunt, this buck would have walked right on top of her. (I'm gonna start following this guy around next year!)

These pictures are of Limb Chicken and his 98 and 99 bucks with the bow. You should here about the one that got away in 98 before that one! I've also seen a picture of the one he's chasing for next year, it's these guys' bigger brother!

This is Iowa Boy and one of the two caribou he took on a 1999 Alaska hunt. He sent me his video tapes and pictures to make me jealous (it worked!). The scenery and animals were incredible on film, the whole time I was watching, I was wishing I had been on the other end of the camera (except the grizzly bear encounter!)

Here's Iowa Boy and two of his Iowa whitetails. He's a taxidermist in the southern part of the state. Where does he find time to work on OTHER peoples' trophies?

Here's BW with another nice buck taken with the bow. It was taken in 1990 and I'm told this hunt carried some special significance in BW's growth as a bowhunter.
The story, of course, would be his to tell.

This is Nobber, one of BW's hunting partners with his opening morning, 2000 gobbler. This guy is what BW refers to as a "buck magnet". I will post a picture or two of a few of the bucks he's taken. I have thrown a few arrows with this character and his nickname should be "the lazer".

What do you do if you love to hunt deer, hunt turkeys and use your down time to do a little wildlife photography and a change in your life puts you on wheels?
You hunt deer, hunt turkeys and take photos!
This is Jack and his April 2000 turkey. I have more than a moderate amount of respect for this guy's skill and dedication.
