Nine Times Blue
"Youre Cassidy!" Phoenix exclaimed as he ran to their table.
"Yeah" she said sighing.
"You're Peter Tork!" he said.
"Yeah" Peter said.
"Nice work with the poem" Cassidy said.
"Thanks" he saiding flashing a toothy grin.
He suddenly ran to the other side of the room.
"He was creepy!" Peter said when he was sure that Phoenix couldn't hear him.
"I told you" she said giggling.
"So who was the person who was supposed to go at 2:30?" she asked.
"Oh no one, I just wanted you to come here with me" he said confidently.
"Is that so?" she said raising her eyebrows.
"Very much so" he said.
They both laughed.
"Listen Pete, I mean I like you and everything but I don't want to ruin this friendship that we obviously have. This friendship is stronger with you than it is with any of the others. I just don't want to mess this up" she said sighing.
Peter stared at her.
"Pete?" she asked softly.
"I'll be friends with you only if we can be best friends" he said smiling.
"Only the very best" she said softly.
"So that leaves Mike, Micky and Davy" he said to himself.
"Not Davy, just friends too!" she said blushing.
"So who do you like?" he asked her.
"I don't know. I mean I can't really tell anything about Mike. Micky seems too I don't know." she said with a small smile.
"So you like Mike?" he squeaked.
"What's wrong with that?" she asked alarmed.
"Nothing" he said quickly.
"No tell me!" she cried.
"Well he's the only one that hasn't talked to anyone about you" he said quietly.
"So he dosen't like me?" she asked.
"It dosen't mean that, it's just that he hasn't talked to us. But I'll try and get something out of him for you" he said reassuringly.
"Thanks, you're the best" she said as she hugged him.
He blushed.
"Peter to be perfectly honest this is a stone drag" she huffed.
"I was just about to say that" he said smiling.
"Let's go" she said.
He layed a couple of dollars on the table. He took her arm and led her back into the sunshine.
"That's better" she said.
"What to do now?" he asked her.
"I don't know. What do you like to do?" she asked him.
"I like to walk around and look at all the people" he said.
"Then that's what we'll do" she said.
He led her down the block, walking slowly with arms linked.
"I like spending time with you Peter. I know you want to be with me just as a friend and not trying to get any from me." she said smiling.
"That's nice to know. I like spending time with you too" he said.
"I think Mike dosen't like me" she said softly.
"You don't know that. He dosen't usually tell his feelings, he really never does" Peter said reassureingly.
"I don't know what to do" she said looking at her feet.
"Just wait" he said after a moment.
A tear glided down her cheek.
"Ohhh Cassie" he said as he pulled her into a hug.
She just wanted to let all of her emotions all out but not in pubilc.
"Pete can we go back to the pad?" she asked through her tears.
"Sure!" he said as he walked with her to the car.
He opened the door for her and helped her in. He jumped in and sped off down the street. He got to the pad and parked the car. He ran around and opened her door for her. She leaned on him as they walked back inside. Micky, Davy and Mike were sitting in the living room.
