"Long drive, eh?" Sydney asked.
Sydney was lying in bed. John was sitting in the chair next to the bed, holding her hand.
"Where's George?" John asked.
"He couldn't be interrupted. He was fucking meditating" Claire said.
"Claire language" Sydney and John said in unison.
"He's not coming...." Sydney said slowly.
"You won't have to go through this alone" John said.
"Wait..." James said.
Claire set James in an empty chair.
"James, we've talked about this" Claire said.
"Yes, mummy" James said looking at the floor.
Sydney screamed.
"Time?" John asked.
Sydney nodded  and squeezed his hand. Claire ran and got the nurses.
"Who's coming with?" the nurse asked.
"Me" John said as he winced in pain as Sydney grasped his hand even harder.
They wheeled Sydney into the delivery room. A couple of hours later, John re-emerged. James was asleep in the chair next to Claire. When Claire and Paul saw they jumped up.
"It's a boy. We named him Stuart Dylan...." John said trailing off.
"Stuart as in Sutcliffe..." Paul said.
"Yeah, I have a son named Stu" John said.
Just then George walked up.
"Why didnt anyone tell me?" George asked.
"George, what do you think I was trying to tell you? Think I was talking to the door for fun" Claire asked.
George was silent.
"Sydney had a boy" Paul said.
"His name is Stuart Dylan" John said.
Just then the nurse walked out of the delivery room.
"You're the father right?" she asked John.
"No, no no. I'm the father" George said.
"Then why were you in the delivery room?" the nurse asked John.
"What?!?" George asked.
"Well someone wasn't taking responsiblity as a father..." John said.
"What do you mean by that?" George asked.
"It means you couldn't stop meditating even when your wife was in fucking labor" Claire said.
"Guys stop it. This is stupid, let's go see Stu" Paul said.
"Stu?" George asked.
"That's the baby's name" John said.
They all walked into Sydney's room. Sydney was laying there with Stu in her arms.
"Oh you decided to show then" Sydney said.
"Sydney, I'm sorry. I had no idea" George said.
"I do believe that Claire tried to tell you" Sydney started "But I suppose some things are more important then your wife being in labor."
"Sydney please don't...." George said.
"Could I hold Stu?" John asked.
"Well I think I should be able to hold the baby" George said.
"Yeah, cause you were there with me all those hours in labor" Sydney said.
John stepped forward and delicatly took Stu. The resemblence between Stu and John was uncanny. Stu looked up at John with interest. John beamed with pride and love for his son.
"Ugh...I left my son in the waiting room" Claire said.
"I'll get him" Paul said.
George was beginning to look angry.
"George here hold Stu" John said handing Stu over unwillingly.
The second George took the Stu. Stu staretd to cry. Sydney quickly took Stu and he stopped crying.
"I need a drink" John said.
He walked into the waiting room. John saw Paul looking down at James smiling.
"I know how you feel Macca" John said.
"What?" Paul asked.
"The love for your son" John said.
"Lennon, I have never seen you so happy as when you were holding Stu. You looked complete" Paul said.
"Macca, I am complete" John said "It's just had not to be able to call him my son."
"I would like to say I feel your pain but I don't. It must be very hard having to hide your love away" Paul said grinning.
Paul reached down and picked up James. Paul and John walked back into the room. Claire was stroking Stu's hair as he rested in her arms.
"I had forgotten how it feels to hold a baby" Claire said.
