Chapter 5
As they walked away some of their friends walked over and started to talk to the lads. On the way to the punch bowl, they were interupted many times by people wanting to talk.
"Let's go into the hall. Maybe we can talk there," Claire said.
As soon as they reached to the hall, Cyn started crying.
"John..is so..depressed. Sad... Thinks he's fat..he's not...he won't listen...He's angry," Cyn said between sobs. "He yells and hits."
"We love John, I mean he's our boy. Right Claire," Syndey said.
Claire nodded.
"But why do you put up with it?" Sydney finished.
Cynthia looked shocked.
"Because I love him," she said.
"You and John need to have a big, long talk about all this. They have 2 weeks off, so perfect time," Claire said sternely.
"How?" Cynthia asked.
"You both sit down and just talk. He may even start the conversatoin, but don't count on that. Just tell him everything and listen to his side. " Claire said.
"OK,"Cynthia said." But one question, since you are from the future. Will it work out?"
"We can't say. And so many things have changed that if it did it
may not now, and if it didn't it may..so you create your own destiny," Claire said.
"But for now let's enjoy Claire and Paul's wedding, OK?" Sydney suggested.
The girls walked back. The people had left their boys by the time they got back.
"What was that?" John asked.
"Girl talk," Sydney said.
"Oh, ok. We thought something was wrong," Paul said looking as if he still thought something was wrong.
"Everything will be ok!" Cyn said and smiled.
A fortnight later, all the lads were back with Brian talking about their new movie.
"Hey! We could go to the Bahamas," John said excitedly. "Never been there."
"Or skiing," Paul suggested.
"Or China!" Ringo said
"China?!?" The others asked.
"Just an idea," Ringo said to defend himself." So how was the honeymoon?"
"Good clean fun!" Paul said.
"It bloody well better have been," John said
"How were your weeks off?" Paul asked.
"We gotta go to dinner tonight! I gotta tell Claire and Sydney something,"John said.
"Alright. I'll ask Claire if we have plans, but I'm sure we'll be able to go," Paul said.
"Anyways, it was fun, Sydney and I went to the pictures alot," George said giving John a quizical look.
"Oh what did you see?" Ringo asked.
"I dunno," George said winking.
That evening all eight of them went to John's favourite restraunt.
"I love this place," John said.
"Really? We didn't figure that out by the fact it's the only place you choose to eat at," Claire said smiling.
"Nobody likes a smart ass," John said.
"Except you, right John," Claire said batting her eyelashes.
"Oh but of course. Hey Claire let's go uh...look at cheese cake,"John said.
Claire and Sydney stated to crack up.
"What?" John asked.
"Do you remember the first time we ever all went out to eat? Paul and I said we were going to look at cheese cake..remember?" Claire said.
The others who had been there began to laugh also. Then Claire got sad.
"Paul, do you remember who we saw there?" she wispered.
"No..oh wait.. we saw Stu," He said.
"What's wrong?" Sydney asked.
"I'll tell you later. OK John, let's go look at cheese cake. I mean talk! Talk!" Claire said laughing."And Sydney..C'mon"
When they were away from where anyone could hear them, Claire and Sydney turned to John.
"What's up?" Sydney asked.
"We talked,"John said.
"And.."Claire prompted.
"We're just going to stay together,and try to work it out. Sydney and I talked about it some while you were gone. She said the same things.," John said looking at Sydney who nodded. "I just wish I had someone I would die for.... who'd die for me. Paul loves Claire so much. George is the same way with Sydney. It makes me sad."
"I do love you, John. Just in a different way then I love Paul. I don't love anyone how I love Paul. But I love you how I love George, Sydney, Cyn, Ringo, etc. We all love you. Cyn loves you alot," Claire said.
"Yeah! You're the funniest. Maybe even the most genious," Sydney said
"I'm not. I love you and you and everyone too, but I want a Sydney or a Claire type love," he said sadly.
"You do have a Claire type love because Claire loves you!" Claire said.
"Never let me talk in third person again." she added.
John smiled.
"Ahh there's that smile that all your fans love you for!" Claire said.
They gave him a kiss on the cheek and they went back. As Claire took her seat, which was next to Paul, she took his hand and smiled at him.
"I love you,"he whispered.
"I love you too," she said
