BCT Day 22
August 15th, 2002
Whew. Big scare yesterday, huh? We redeemed ourselves today and gained our personal time back. I don't know how long until someone fucks up and they take it away again.
Yesterday we went through more first aid and the bayonette assault course. We had to complete it in under 3.5 minutes. It mainly consisted of stabbing old tires and yelling KILL! Very challenging and extremely physical. Very fun also.
Today we finished up first aid. You all will be safe around me from now on. We also learned land navigation for the course tomorrow. We'll get dropped off in a cemetery in the middle of the woods and have to find 7 checkpoints using a map, a pencil, a protractor, and a compass.
Oh. We redeemed ourselves by doing excellent in the marching competition. My platoon got a 91 out of 100 and missed winning by only two points.
Sunday is reply reply reply day. I'll write to Cendy, Dejan, and my parents. I'm still awaiting mail from you David, Greg, Manuel, and Erin.
I better get my sleep so I don't fall asleep in the woods tomorrow and get eaten by several nasty animals. Good night!
