AIT Day 6
October 2nd, 2002
Damn. I've been here almost a week already. That means I phase in less than a month. I didn't even notice.
We started school today. Our instructor is a Staff Sergeant. Her favorite word is homeslice. She told us, "Don't be pimpin' in my school house." There are like 7 females in my class. None are pimp worthy.
The school is nice. We walk through $14 million worth of equipment in the shop before stepping in the classroom. We get nice swivel chairs. The break room has all kinds of junk food and caffeine to keep us awake. It has phones, too. We need the caffeine, since falling asleep violates the UCMJ. That's our law. Damn it. Why are these chairs so comfortable? We wake up at 0430. How can we not fall asleep?
They told us our course length. It's 11 weeks and four days, so start counting down with me from today. I should be done the first week of January, unless they rush the class to finish before winter break.
We took a tour of the shop. Some of the engines were as high as a person. I can't wait to get my hands on that humvee engine. Too bad we have to wait a month to do.
