| ADOPTED!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is "Dozer" (short for Bulldozer of course!). He is a purebred Clydesdale gelding that was being put through for meat. In this lads case, I am not sure why as he is sound, sweet and quiet! He also rides and (I was told) drives... I can vouch for the riding part, but I didn't see him drive so I can't say for sure. Coming from Mennonite country though I would imagine that he definitely HAS seen the front of a cart at some point! :) This boy has only one complaint and that is he has some very slight clouding on his right eye, but he is not spooky, can see fine on that side and it does not bother him in the least. His first day home he was swarmed by children and various farm animals.. he took it all in stride and was very compsed for his first time in an indoor arena. lol!! He also got along VERY well with all the horses in his paddock and is not a dominant guy at all as far as we can tell. While he is being assessed, I thought I would tantalize you all with some pics of the cutie! He has been dewormed, vaccinated and his feet will be seen to in a few weeks. They are not at all in bad shape like you normally see! ! |

| HAPPY UPDATE - DUE TO HIS ADVANCED AGE AND THE FACT HE WILL NEVER REALLY GET ANY MORE CONDITIONED THAN HE ALREADY IS, SAVING GRACE IS GOING TO BE KEEPING HAPPY HERE UNTIL ITS HIS TIME TO CROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE. I FEEL IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR HIM TO HAVE TO GO TO YET ANOTHER PLACE AT THIS TIME IN HIS LIFE... HE WILL LIVE THE REST OF HIS TIME (AS SHORT OR LONG AS THAT MAY BE) HERE AT THE RESCUE. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This poor little guy is "HAPPY." He came from the slaughter auction where he was sent after not "doing so well over the winter". He was tossed out into a field and forgotten after he became reduntant to the children. Since arriving here at Saving Grace he has perked up, put on weight, been dewormed, de-loused, started to grow back hair, heal sores and is just a generally MUCH happer fellow! |

| He has since been treated with antifungals, anti inflammatories, de loused and is on Recovery EQ. Also MTG was used to soften up the scabs and help hair grow back.. and it is!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| "Happy" in July, 5 weeks after arriving here... rounded out a bit in the butt, shed out, no more nasty scurfy, rain rotted, sweet itched beastie! He will never be a "round" lad, but... hey... not all of us are Super Models! ;) Oh, the "caution" tape in the background is for visibility for the electric that separates the "dry lot" paddock from the bigger front one. :P | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Updated pics of the old fellow! Here he is about 250lbs heavier, furry in his winter woolies, ribs padded and chowing down on some lovely mush made of Podium, Finishing Touch and a bit of sweet feed. Happy lad if I do say so myself! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
