God's Eternal Mercy
Wow, why does Christ continue to go to the Cross for us? Lately I have been reminded of the song by Derek Webb entitled "Wedding Dress." Listen to the words one time and think how you it applies to your life. "I am a whore I do confess, I put you on just like a wedding dress and run down the aisle." How many times in our life do we simply praise Christ and then turn around and simply live in the world, live like hypocrites? And how often do we return to Christ, and Christ has his arms wide open? We act just like a Whore when we go to Christ praise him and turn around and "Sleep" with the world's morals. How long will this continue?
It reminds me of Hosea who did everything God asked of him. He married a prostitute and named his children "Not Loved" "Not Mine" and "Jezreel" (a city which had been massacred by another army; similar to naming a person Kabul or Baghdad,in today's time.) God told Hosea to go and get his wife and never once did Hosea complain or talk back. WOW, what a great role-model! If only I had that much patience with God. But Hosea did, and for that Hosea I salute you.
We often act like the prostitute and leave a life which is so great without worries. Yet, we cannot live in a comfortable life, we have to cause problems. WHY?! When we become Christians, the Bible makes the says that we marry God. God, just like Hosea, continuelly chases after us, the prostitute, and we continuelly run away.
God I love your eternal mercy even though I do not deserve it at all.
