LAW AND ADMINISTRATION (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE
No. 5 OF 5708—1948*
  THE PROVISIONAL COUNCIL OF STATE hereby enacts as follows :—
Amendment
of Principal
Ordinance.
1. The following two subsections shall be added to section 1 of the Law and Administration Ordinance, 5708-1948:-
  • "(c) Where a member of the Provisional Council of State resigns or for some other reason vacates his seat, the Provisional Council of State may appoint any other person to fill the vacancy. The name of such other person shall be published in the Official Gazette as an amendment of the Schedule to this Ordinance.
  • (d) Where a state of emergency is declared under section 9(a) of this Ordinance, and as a result thereof a member of the Provisional Council of State is prevented from attending a particular meeting of the Council, the Provisional Council of State may elect any other person to fill the place of the absent member. The person so elected shall at that meeting enjoy all the rights of a member of the Provisional Council of State.".
Commencement. 2. This Ordinance shall come into force on the 25th lyar, 5708 (3rd June, 1948).
Title. 3. This Ordinance may be cited as the Law and Administration (Amendment) Ordinance, 5708-1948.
