BASIC LAW: THE KNESSET (AMENDMENT NO. 10) *
   
Amendment of section 6. 1. Section 6 of the Basic Law: The Knesset(1) shall be indicated (a) and shall be followed by the following section:
(b) "Should an Israeli citizen also be a citizen of another country, and the laws of that country allow him to waive such citizenship, he shall not be a candidate for the Knesset, unless having done, until the submission of the list of candidates to the Knesset including his name, and to the satisfaction of the Chairman of the Central Knesset Elections Committee, all that is required of him in order to waive such citizenship; for the purposes of this section, a person shall be deemed to be a resident of another state only if he held, at some stage, the passport or another certificate of that State, attesting to his being a citizen of that State.
Commencement. 2. Section 2 shall come into force from the elections to the twelfth Knesset and onwards.
