The Importance of Responsible Pet Ownership

A new pet can add untold hours of joy to your family and provide you with more unconditional love than you can imagine. But please remember that acquiring a pet is a lifetime commitment and should not be taken lightly.

Fees

  $80.00  Adoption fee for all dogs (spayed and neutered).  Each animal
              is examined and treated for parasites. Routine tests and
              vaccinations are provided.  Heartworm tests are preformed on
              all dogs.  A dog whose Heartworm test is positive will be
              treated. 

              Cats over the age of 6 months will be tested for feline leukemia.

$100.00  Adoption fee for puppies.  When you have the puppy
              spayed/neutered, you will get a refund of $40.00 if this
              procedure is done at the agreed upon time.  If this procedure
              is done at Banfield, you get $50.00 back.  As soon as SOS
              receives a copy of the spay/neuter procedure, your deposit
              check will be mailed back to you.  Proof of the spay/neuter must
              be sent to SOS within 1 month of the completion of the
              procedure or the deposit will be forfeited and it will not be
              refunded.   
             

Adopter Requirements

• Adopter must be at least 21 years of age and have identification.
• Spaying/Neutering of cats and dogs adopted through any humane organization is a state law.
• When adopting a pet from SAVE OUR STRAYS, INC., a legally binding and enforced contract must be signed.
• If at any time you are unable to keep the pet, or unable to provide it with proper care, it must be given back to SAVE OUR STRAYS, INC.
