Real friends are a true blessing from God. Although we can't pick our family, we can pick our friends. Sometimes we find them, other times they find us just when we need them the most. I have my fun friends, my acquaintance friends, my fair weather friends, my used-to-be "friends", and then I have a few REAL friends. These REAL friends are people I know I can trust and will never betray me. I don't have to worry about being stabbed in the back by them. They are friends who can confront me with something without me getting angry at them (or not for long anyway) and vice versa. All friendships require a lot of work and effort. Whenever I need to talk, someone to listen, a shoulder to cry on, or am in trouble, I know I can call my few REAL friends any time of day or night without the worry of making them mad. As for my REAL online friends, I know I can get on e-mail or chat and talk about anything, serious or goofy stuff and it's all good. Friends are such a great support system to have. Life would be very lonely without friends. I would rather have two TRUE friends than 100 so-called friends or party friends or whatever. Friendship is great. It is so fun when you can be with your friend and stay up all hours of the night watching movies and talking until the early hours of the morning. God has blessed me with some really great friends, not just here but also online. I am thankful for all of my friends. I hope I am as good a friend to my real friends as they are to me.
