OK. What if we decided to turn the other cheek? Don't get me wrong, Bin Laden needs to be stopped; we need to protect ourselves. What if we found a way to get a hold of him without making Afghanistan a big parking lot? Let's say that once he rides the lightning is brought to justice, we send a ton of relief workers and resources to Afghanistan and the other Islamic nations? Probably 97% of the people in those countries have not concept of what's going on and had little to do with the attacks. Wouldn't that do wonders to stop anti-American sentiment in the middle east?

It's a pretty optimistic thought, I know, but what would that say to people if we decided not to avenge the loss of innocent lives with the shedding of innocent blood? Can a gesture of good will blot out an act of terror?

Nah. We'll never know...
