My Big Sister
Sweet as the scent of honeysuckle on the vine Bright and cheerful as the finest bubbling wine Soft as the down of an old feather pillow Strong and bold as the lone weeping willow
She was my big Sister and my best friend She stood by my side through thick and through thin Always waiting with an outstretched hand I always knew that she would understand
Asking for advice from the One my Mama taught I would wait for my big Sisters grown up thoughts Sitting close on the bed as she whispered secrets in my ear It is times like these that to me are so dear
We laughed, we cried, we fought, we loved We went through it all as sisters should Even though in years we were six apart We shared the love in each others heart
She was my Big Sister and my best friend Ill always stand by her through thick and through thin Ill still keep our whispered secrets safe and secure Just as Ill hold onto her memory of love so pure
