Something Happens In My Heart - Part 14
***Something Happens In My Heart***
**Part 14**

It wasn't long before the camp would be over, and Leonie and Darren were getting worried.

"As far as I know, both remember each other," said Darren. "Now how do we get them together?"

"I'm not sure," said Leonie. "Do you have any ideas?" At that moment, Darren had a brainwave.

"Do you remember when I was five, I was in Paris and caught a cold?" asked Darren.

"Yeah, your dad flew all the way to Paris to get you home," replied Leonie. "Hey, wait a minute...you don't mean..." Darren nodded vigorously.

"Well...it sounds sneaky..." pondered Leonie. "But if it gets Savage Garden together, then might as well!"

"All right!" exclaimed Darren. "Hey, is there a payphone around?"

"I have a mobile phone," said Leonie, pulling the phone out of her pocket. "Use this!" Darren took the phone, rung home and waited patiently for his dad to pick up the phone.

"Good afternoon, Daniel Jones speaking."

"Dad...ACHOO!"

"DARREN?" asked a worried Daniel. Unfortunately the line was disconnected, but he could tell that his son was not well. He quickly drove to the train station and took the first train leaving for Camp Happydale.

"Darren...Darren, where are you?" asked Daniel as soon as he reached the camp grounds. Just then Leonie walked by.

"Leonie! Thank God I found you!" said Daniel. "Where's Darren?"

"Oh, he went to pack his bags," said Leonie. "Here, let me bring you somewhere where you can wait for him." Leonie brought Daniel to the football field, right beside the cubhouses. Daniel noticed someone sitting on the steps across the football field...someone very familiar...

"Oh my God, Leonie, is that him?" asked Daniel. "Is that Darren?"

"Which Darren?" asked Leonie.

"Darren Hayes," explained Daniel. "The Darren who was my best friend for as long as I had my son Darren...the Savage Garden Darren..."

"Well, if you really want to find out, why don't you go talk to him?" suggested Leonie. All right! she thought. This plan's starting to take shape!

"Well...okay!" said Daniel, and walked towards the lone figure on the steps. Leonie turned around and gave a thumbs-up sign to Darren the camper, who was hiding behind one of the cubhouses. Darren the counselor, though, was not in the best of moods. In fact he was crying.

It IS Darren - but what happened to him? thought Daniel. Why is he so sad? He slowly made his way towards Darren, who did not notice him at all.

"If you need to fall apart...I can mend a broken heart...if you need to crash then crash and burn, you're not alone..."

"Nice singing, Darren," said Darren the counselor.

"Darren, it's me, your friend," said Daniel. Darren looked up and was surprised.

For the first time in his life he had heard Daniel sing.
