Something Happens In My Heart - Part 13
***Something Happens In My Heart***
**Part 13**

It was one of the last few days of camp. The campers were playing charades, and the team with the two Darrens won. Darren decided to treat the young camper, as he managed to guess most of the words. That wasn't the only reason he treated Darren, though.

"So Darren...I hear you are Leonie's nephew, am I right?" asked Darren.

"Yeah, you're right," said Darren. "Her sister's my mom."

"You mean Chardina?" asked Darren. "That makes you Daniel's son...you're the son of my best friend!" Darren was surprised.

"How did you know?" asked the young boy.

"I've got my ways," said Darren with a smirk. "God, it's so cool to be able to meet my best friend again...or at least his offspring!"

"But Sir, if you two are best friends, why don't you contact each other?" asked Darren.

"Daniel left without telling me where he was going," replied the counselor. "I guess I never told him where I was going too - he never called or wrote. Yet I still think of him."

"He still thinks about you, Sir," said Darren. "He once told me a bit about you and Savage Garden."

"Ah, Savage Garden...I still remember it as though it was yesterday," said Darren the musician, looking high up into the stars. "All the times we shared...the music...the fans...if only I could relive it!"

"Why don't you then?" asked Darren the camper, drinking his soda.

"It'll be hard - there'll be a lot to do," explained Darren. "I have to get Daniel back with me...then find a producer...spend 6 months writing music...get a back-up band...find a P.A. and a publicist...but I'll be willing to do it all!"

"Aunt Leonie can help," said Darren. "I'll help too!"

"You will? Really?" asked the surprised counselor.

"I'll do all I can, Sir," said Darren, hugging the counselor. "I promise." What he did next, though, astounded the counselor.

"Let me be the one you call...if you jump I'll break your fall...lift you up and fly away with you into the night..."

"Where did you learn that?" asked the elder Darren. He hasn't heard that song, one of his own creations with Daniel, for about eight years.

"Dad thought me that song," replied the younger Darren. "He said it was his favourite song...he would sing it to me almost everyday." Just then they both heard Leonie calling.

"Lights out, everybody!" said Leonie. All the campers, including Darren, ran towards their cubhouses and went blissfully to sleep, watched by the caring eyes of Darren and Leonie.

"Aren't they sweet little angels, all of them?" said Leonie.

"They sure are," replied Darren, "but so are you..." Leonie didn't really catch what Darren was saying, but whatever it was brought a smile to her heart.

"So are you, Darren...so are you..."
