Ruthie got her new car today. it's a 95 dodge neon sport. it
is definitly her car. i do not particularly like riding in it (i havn't tried
driving it, Ruthie has of course, and she likes it.) I think it's way too
low to the ground, and I can't help but think that it is way to tiny to be
safe. i can't even get in and out of the blasted thing easily. she wants
me to drive it tommorow, which i am not looking forward to. it has only been
a week since the accident, and while that doesn't bother me per se, i am
still a bit spooked, but the vehicle is to small for me. Maybe it's from
driving the van, but alas, it's such a tiny car.
My hope for the new year is to be able to afford another van, or maybe
a station wagon. I just need to get money first. which reminds me that i
still need a job untill the store i work at reopens in January. the watch
kiosk in the mall (Dakota watches, Brianwood Mall) let me be drawn out for
two weeks without hiring me, the stupid bastard didn't have the balls to
say he wouldn't hire me early on, he elected to tell me he would start calling
people in a few day. i didn't get a call, and to me that means he knew when
i asked him, and he didn't want to hire me, instead giving me false hope
and having me wait out somthing that didn't even work out.
The manager at Walgreens, where Ruthie works told her that she
might hire me for the holidays, and if i didn't find anything to stop in.
so i filled out the application a few days before thanksgiving break, only
to hear a few of her concerns, which were addressed. she said at first that
she wasn't sure because i'd be leaving in January, but i told her i could
still do part time, then this last week she told ruthie we couldn't work
the same hours (she's in Cosmetics, i could easily train in photo, far away
from cos, and work different hours.) Finally today, just about 2 weeks later,
she decides that she can't hire me because 'two employees can not live together'
which she knew when she mentioned she might hire me, and for the whole 2
weeks before she decided to tell me she wouldn't hire me. She has a manager
dating a minor there, the minor having their mom working there, and yet,
I can't work there because I live with my fiance who works there. does that
mean if i moved out but stayed engaged I could work there?
Dec 8, 2002.
Last Monday, we were
in a car accident. We were going down Washtenaw in Ann Arbor on the 2nd,
and found a nice piece of ice, which led down the hill that the road was
on into a large electrical pole. Unfortunately, the pole won. So now we have
no vehicle again. (We had a 2001 Daewoo Lanos until an accident last September
when an 81-year-old driver didn’t make his turn and hit me head on and pushed
the car into a van behind us.)
My car this time was
a 1989 Dodge Caravan, I ‘paid’ 800 for it, I still owe $450 on it to my cousin
in Ohio. I only had the van for about a month and a half, and had driven
it only a little over a thousand miles. While the car was in Ruthie and my
names, the van was only in my name. I had finally gotten the window in it
fixed a short while back, and thankfully I got the passenger seatbelt replaced
after having the van for about 3 days.
Well, its just under
a week later, and the snow is finally going away (not sure where though,
it’s still freezing out.) and in the next few days Ruthie will be paying
for a 1995 Dodge Neon. It’s HER first car, unlike the Daewoo that was shared,
or her parents’ cars. With luck after the new year I will get my financial
aid for school and be able to pay off Billy, so I hope to get a new vehicle
after the new year starts. I’d really like another van though.
Its finals week, and
things are going slower, since Yahoo renewed my domain name, which I am happy
about, but I thought I would lose the domain since I didn’t have the money
for it. My bank thought it a good idea, and I went over in my account. All
told, the renewal this time cost me about $80.
This summer we got an apartment together, now we are
moving again to a one-bedroom apartment in a few weeks, the two people that
went with us on the apartment backed out, and we need the money. It will
save us $130 per month anyways.
Actually, now we have a
cat, named Sweetie, and a number of fish in a ten-gallon aquarium. (The fish,
not the cat). I need to get some pictures of the cat up and on here, but
my scanner died today.
I
hope to add links (as much so I can find them as anything) soon.
I’m going to move the below
