11. Wake Up Dude!
I was holding on to a rough boulder, on the edge of a waterfall. With my other hand I was holding Spyros, who was hanging down, looking at the bottom terrified and bewildered. He didn't seem to realise what was happening. I yelled and yelled at him: "Spyro! Wake up man! It's a dream! A nightmare! Wake up!". But he wouldn't listen.
12. Trolls, here?
I was standing on the top of a wooden kiosk, and there were some other people there with me. Then a giant came, sort of an Incredible Hulk lookalike, but not green, at least. He started to bash and smash the kiosk, and eat the people there. I just retreated quietly to the back of the kiosks' roof, until there was no roof left, and no one else for the giant to eat either. I hopped lithely on a ledge, and I stood there, on my heels, looking at the giant with a calm grin on my face. The giant told me "I 'm going to eat you". I told him, "Ok, but do you have something like this, you?". I showed him something I was holding. He looked at it, and asked what it was. I told him it was a "Cats' jaw talisman". He didn't have one. He wanted to have one. I told him "hey, I 'll show you how to make one". "Ok" he said "and then I 'm going to eat you". "Follow me" I said. I jumped down from the ledge, and started hopping towards the bushes of the forest nearby. "Hey!" said the giant "that's not fair! Play fair". I disappeared in the bushes, and then suddendly it was night, and I saw a campfire. There were some people sitting around it. I saw cats hopping all around them and disappearing in the dark. I did the same. The people around the fire looked at us, not moving, not saying anything.
13. Are you talking to me?
I was in the woods, and it was late in the evening. I found a shaggy cabin made from bits of reeds tied together and covered with mud. I got jealous, and I wanted to make one of my own. But I couldn't find any reeds around, so I started taking them off the ready one. But every time I was untying some and putting them on the ground, they mixed with the earth and the dried grass, and I couldn't find them anymore. I kneeled, and I tried to see where they 'd gone, but I couldn't find them anywhere. There was only dry earth and leaves and grass. Then I heard something behind me. I looked, and there was this guy, grim and dark, standing there, looking at me. Quickly, I got up, took a branch with a pointed edge, and drew a circle around me on the ground. We stood there, watching each other, me inside the circle, him outside with arms crossed on his chest. "Come out of the circle" he said politely. "Are you looking for malakes?", I mocked him. After a while, he went away. I looked, but I couldn't see or hear him anymore. I assumed he 'd be lurking somewhere near, but I couldn't spend all my dream life in a circle of protection, so I got out of it, and I started walking away from there, really carefuly, looking for the guy behind bushes and short trees. I heard a scream then, and I saw him, coming out from his hidding place, behind some tree, and I ran back in my circle, mad with fear. He threw something at me. It was a knife. It got me in the middle of the belly, right over my waist, and exactly between my belly muscles. I realised that he had aimed for the center of my body. He stood outside the circle again, calling me names, screaming at me, threatening me, but I didn't move. I looked at the knife. There was no wound to be seen, and the knife was round- edged, like a butter knife, and it didn't really look that leathal after all, but I had felt it slicing through me. Then I saw some people creeping behind the dark guy. They were crawling on their bellies and making signs to me not to give them away, but I must have looked so surprised (I knew one of them) that the dark guy turned his head around and saw them. They were close enough to jump on him, and they all started fighting. But I didn't stay to learn the score. I ran out of my circle and away into the night. Suddendly, while I was still running, and I had put a good deal of distance between me and that scary dude, I realised something was wrong with the moon. I looked up, and saw that there were two of them, two moons, both full, and converging. There was thunder and lightning, and I felt a rush of emotion grabbing me by the throat, like I was going insane. I started screaming, gibberish about two worlds that were becoming one, and stuff like that that I couldn't really understand. I realised I must be dreeming. Then I started running again, and I fell in a hole someone had opened in the ground. There was a sign of men at work, and warning ribbons and stuff. I was near a motorway, someplace in the wilderness, that didn't look like anything I could recognise.
14. Dream I saw the night of the August full moon 1999.
I was in some place that looked like an Aegyptian temple, or something like that, but in a more hi-techish version. I don't remember seeing any weird devices or machines, screens and the like, but the place looked like it was built from a material that I couldn't understand if it was glass or steel or something else, although at that moment it didn't cross my mind it looked any weirder than common stone. At one end of the temple, directly in fron of me, there was a sort of dais of that same material. From both sides of the dais, stairs went up and met to a stairway that reached the top. It looked like a zigourat, only smaller. On it's top, sat a beast, that looked like a sphinx. Up the stairs, went people, who ended up in the beasts' maw. I was one of them. But, while I was already going up the stairs, unresisting, like I was hypnotized, something inside me woke up, and I told myself I had no intention to become a sacrifice at the teeth of a sphinx-like beast, and, breaking the line, I jumped from the stairs to the ground. At once, some guards ran after me, but then I remembered the sacrificial victims had to be pure, untouched and unmarked. I saw the guards were hesitating to come close to me or hit me with their weapons, I think they had something like guns, so I lifted the garb I was wearing, and which was looking like a tunic, over my chest, and saying to myself "only the unmarked ones" and, "I am going to mark myself on my own", I scratched myself with my nails on the chest. The guards made some noise, then, and I turned around and fled. They started at my heels. Later, I was on the surface, because, as I realised, the temple of the beast was underground. On the surface, I was not alone. There were some boys and girls with me. We were on something like a flat roof made of concrete, sort of like a veranda, and there were several slit things like skyglights filled with water instead of glass panes. I stuck my head in one of them, and I could see the temple. I could see the beast, not far underneath, but I couldn't tell if it had felt me. The others with me, were scared shitless by my audacity, and they warned me to be careful to step lightly, so that the beast doesn't hear my footsteps. At some point, we decided to get away from there, and the reason, amongst others, was that the beast was there, with us, on the roof, or at least something that looked way too much alike it for a simple coincidence. The kids were trying to understand if it was seeing us or not, because it wasn't moving or making any sound or noise. And when I was looking at it, the only thing I could see, were his eyes. Rather, I could see its' face, that looked like a dogs' face, or like the face of Anoubis, but it seemed as if it was reduced to just a pair of round eyes. After that, we found ourselves in some house that looked a bit like the tower of Dracula, from the inside, or the home of the Adamses. We waited at an antechamber, and one of the servants (I 've no idea if his name was Igor) told us we could come in. We did, and got into a living room. Sitting on a couch, we saw a woman with a blond cropped haircut, and very intense features that looked like the blonde from a TV series I used to watch, called JAG. She talked to us for a while, and I can't remember what she was saying, but she touched me on the forehead, were my scar from my headbutt on a yard floor from a six meters height is, and she said something like "this will pay off when you 're 26". I looked at her bewildered, and I couldn't understand what she meant, and she added "I 'll drink your blood in the night". I felt like my one true love had announced me her will to have kids with me. I woke up, and the only thing I could think of, was how lucky I was that this wonderful lady blah blah had chosen me. I couldn't even feel stupid for having fallen in love with a character from a cheap vampire movie. I went back to sleep trying to dream more of the same dream, and I actualy did it. This time, I was sitting on a table with some ten more people, and the lady was teaching us, like in a lesson at school. One of us, and I swear he was the spitting image of my old classmate Stamoulis, was making noise and being a morron, and she told him to get up and leave, and she meant for good. Then she asked me what was my opinion on that, and I told her I believed it was a mistake to deny Stamoulis his right to learning, and that it is good to have in the classroom the... uh... differenceness that his behaviour brought to us. Then she seemed surprised, and she showed that she had changed her mind, and declared that she would bring him back. I can't remember if she actualy did at that time. The next scene I can remember, is me, out on the street, and trying to cross the road. For some reason I changed my mind quickly, although I had found it strange that ouside the house there was a road, and not the roof of the temple, as when we had been there for the first time. I decided that the best thing I had to do was go back, and I did, almost causing a couple of accidents in the process (some motorists were being uncareful). Inside the house, I found my classmates from the lesson with the lady, discussing with one of the servants, about the details for the birthday party of Dennie (who was also present). The servant was saying, to all of us, but so that Dennie especialy couldn't fail to notice, that the lady wanted to know if any of us thought Karaoke was entertaining. Dennie was excited (in real life, she had told me once of having sung in a Karaoke bar somewhere, poor girl) and she showed it in many ways. But I intervened and said that the strobes were rather depressing. At about that point I realised that the living room had a totally eighties- disko lightning, diskoballs etc. The servant guy turned to me and said, with a professionaly vexed haugty style that the lights went with the rest of the program, or the music, I 'm not sure, and so I shut up. After this, I remember I had started to get really suspicious, like, it was about fucking time in there, man. I remember that I was trying to talk about the lady with someone, and I didn't know how to call her, so , that being the first thing that came to my mind, I called her "Duchess". Later still, we were all at a huge table, and eating, and Stamoulis was back with us. We were having some weird kind of meat, that tasted very familiar, but I couldn't really place it. It reminded me of chicken, and it did look like chicken, or poultry. But I immediately got the idea that we were eating human meat, and I was trying to understand from the shapes of the pieces in other peoples plates. I turned to Stamoulis, and told him "I know what it is (or Who it is) that we 're eating" or "I know who's missing" or something like that. I can't remember much because the dream changed again and then I woke up. Thinking about it the next day, I had the weird impression that what we were eating was actualy Stamoulis himself, and the lady-bitch was the Sphinx beast, or some underling beast serving it, and that I had never managed to really escape into that old Dracula house, she had just filled me with delusions, to make me think I was where it wanted me to think I was, while it was feeding me with the foods I needed to become as fat or full as it wanted me. I imagined, from the time I found the way to escape her, I had become something like a tasty snack for her, a delicatesse or sweatmeat. Weird.
15. Grandfather of time.
I saw the beggining of the world. It was dawn, I could see the sun all red like a flower, and the sea was deep blue and beautiful. I knew I was looking at the time before time. I watched a man coming out of the sea, deeply tanned, with golden hair and a shinning face with a powerful smile. I heard his name. It sounded a little like it was recorded on a damaged tape, or as if it was played backwards and slower than normal. It was "Shouamone". Well, that's it.
16. Telecom
I was at my friends' Yannis' place. I was talking to the phone, only the phone was more than a phone. It had the normal mouth-and-ear- piece, but it also had a small screen, and I was looking at it, seeing the person I was talking to. The device looked really compact, in fact it reminded me of the door-phone my mothers' old appartment house had. It was something you read about in sci-fi, but it really looked everyday, and used to some abusive usage, just like my telephone.
17. Doomsday part one.
I was a woman, but I wanted to become a man. Yeah, go figure. I mean, OK, ancient Greeks thought everything is inverted in dreams, and that's the way to interpet them. Well, good luck with this one. I was this tall blonde, dressed in denim and leather, right out of some Heavy Metal cover (the comic mag). I was talking with some friends of mine, and I was really pissed off, and for no good reason, it seems. I screached some abuse at them, and left them, but I could hear them saying to each other "what's gotten into her?". I went someplace where I was on my own, and undid my zipper. I looked inside, and, whaddaya know. I had suddendly sprouted a brand new, completely functional prick. I was so thrilled. I think I laughed an evil laugh, and thought to myself "Now I 'm gonna show them all" and then "I 'm a man, at last, I 'm a man damn it, a man". I took a narrow path leading up a hill, through the back yards of the houses on its' feet, and I was at the top of the hill. There was a small circular plazza, and some stone seats. Someone I kew was there, and I sat down and we started talking some bullshit. Underneath, I could see Corfu, the old district. Suddendly, this big chunk of rock fell from the sky and crashed right on one of the old houses. Me and my friend looked, but we couldn't really believe it. I thought to myself "what the hell? Are those bloody bastard Turks attacking us, or what?" Like they would have thrown rocks with a catapult or something! But then we saw a second rock fall and smash more buildings. I could actually see the rock colliding, and the buildings being pulverized, and bits of wood and stone flying around, so it wasn't really that realistic for a meteor strike, but what do you want? Low budget, low tech. The meteorites started really raining down now, and I was panicking. I got up, and screamed to myself "get out of here, you malaka!". But I didn't move fast enough (not that I 'd known where to go). I saw one meteorite coming straight at us, close up, and that was the end of the dream.
18. Doomsday part two, the Laughing Death.
I was watching the TV, and there was some stupid reality show on. A woman, holding her baby, and doing house jobs, was crying and screaming at the camera about how they had taken advantage of her and her baby to attract an audience. Bored, I got out of the place I was, and I started walking out the streets, when all of a sudden, I saw a bus crash on a car. I freaked out. It wasn't a couple of minutes, before another addicent happened a few steps away, and then I realised everyone on the streets was behaving in a crazy way. There were cars crashing all around, people screaming, drivers dead at the weels and their vehicles running driverless. An old lady near me, started cackling a mad laugh, and then she collapsed. I noticed more people were laughing, and then it hit me. It was a terrorist strike. Someone had released some gas on the wind, and when you breathed it, your nervous system started overloading. When the load reached critical mass, your nervous system short-circuited, and you collapsed, like the old lady. I thought of Ada. I had to find her. I was so anxious about her. I had no idea were she could be, or where I should start looking from, but I started running anyway. Only, I couldn't really run. I could only move slowly, like I was swimming in honey. As usual, I then started running on all four, like a beastie, because everytime this happens, it's always easier to walk or run that way. So I started jumping around, over people and cars, trying to ignore the mayhem, but the mayhem couldn't ignore me, could it? I was ran over by a car and woke up swearing.
19. Doomsday part three, Until the stars fall from the sky.
It was the end of the world. Again. I was home, in Athens, and Ada was at her folks' place in Corfu. The meteor was about to strike, and nothing worked, so I couldn't even phone her. But I knew she would wait for me where we had agreed we would meet if something like this ever happened, and there was no other engagement to honor. Only, this place was in Corfu. And I had no car, or any other possible way to get there, especially not before disaster struck. But I didn't worry. I was so calm inside. The world might end, but I knew I had found someone to love and be loved by. Ada. I was fullfilled, and I didn't give a shit whatever happened. I mean, I was a bit sad everything would end, but if you had to go, going when you knew there is someone thinking of you, was the best way out.
20. Doomsday part four, The Aftermath.
I was walking amidst the ruins of the world. It wasn't Earth, but it had just ended. Some global destruction had come down on it, and everything was in ruins. I was walking in something that used to be a street, and there was debris everywhere, stones, metal, what have you. Nothing was left standing. I was looking at it, and feeling really sad. Everything was calm and quiet. There were others with me, and we were discussing what we would have to go through to rebuild. It looked like a job for Superman, though.
21. And I liked Tyrranids, damn it!
Again, I was on another planet, not Earth. I was a soldier. Actually, a kind of commando. The rest of my people had left the planet, and only me and a bunch of others like me had stayed behind, to take care of some last details. You see, the planet was already being set upon by a Hegemonising fucking Swarm, which looked like Tyrranids (from Warhammer 40K). Think Independence day, or Starship Troopers. Or the Zerg (Starcraft). They looked like that, insectoid and all. They were marching, more like creeping, down a meandering corridor, in a yard. I was there too, a few steps ahead. I was moving really quietly, because they were just one turn away from me. I had set a trap behind them, and now I was retreating discreetly. I was wearing a battle suit that looked really coolish, only, as I was a covert ops guy, I figure the marines or the actual troopers probably wore much better stuff than mine, all armour and things- mine was a chacki outfit with a helmet and visor, a backpack and boots. At least it let you move silently, so the Thyrranid things didn't get me.
This dreams was similar to a couple others I 've seen. In one, I was looking at myself going through a crack in a wall, that led to another world, I was again armed, and member of a special squad. In the other, I was walking down a narrow, short-ceilinged corridor, and I could only see the gun in my hands. I was playing a lot of Quake at the time. In the dream, I was going through a drill, and I could hear my instructors' commands from my helmets' mike. I had a little device with me that had the codes for the doors that I found in my way, and I used it to open them. They didn't go "wheee-omb".
