"But Daniel according Meelay's history, the Apakians have never even seen a Goa'uld...except for the one who evidently brought them here from earth." Carter pointed out. "If that's the case and we have to assume it is, where would he have heard the word Tau'ri."
"Also when I was talking to Shelaya she said-" Removing his glasses, Daniel rubbed the bridge of his nose, taking the time to search his memory. "She said...something about Shau're-" Jack expected him to start hopping in place to jog the elusive memory loose. "She said 'Like Warrior Teal'c she did not come from the first world.' She used the words first world in referring to earth."
"Does it seem strange to anyone else that Ra would bring them here and then just forget about them." O'Neill asked. Seeing the worry flash across Daniel's expressive face, he quickly dropped the hand that had been rubbing his temple. "I thought the point in populating other worlds was to give them hosts."
"It is possible that Ra considered these people still too primitive for his needs." Teal'c stated. "If the system lord who took possession of this planet after you destroyed Ra, visited in the winter months, this world would have appeared uninhabited."
"That still doesn't explain Bannock!" Daniel interjected as he stopped pacing to look at his companions.
"Sir, if we assume Daniel's correct and that at least Shelaya and Bannock have some type of telepathic abilities then it's possible they're just repeating what they've gotten from our minds." Carter theorized. "Or at least your's and Daniel's mind if the Gamekeeper was correct in saying that Teal'c's symbiote and my joining with Jolinar keeps our minds from being accessed."
"So essentially, what you're saying is we really have no idea what the situation is and no control over it whatsoever." Jack hated this. He was the leader of SG-1, responsible for the people on his team. He was in command and not being able to regulate the situation could cost someone their life.
"Yes sir."
"We will have more information when the Apakians allow Daniel Jackson to see the temple." Teal'c was quick to point out.
"Well I do have control over one thing. From this moment on no one," Jack's steady gaze settled on Daniel sensing the ensuing argument, "and I do mean no one goes anywhere alone."
"Jack-"
"No one Daniel. Not until we know for sure exactly what's going on."
