As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
We became one color.
As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building
We became one class.
As we lit candles of waiting and hope
We became one generation.

As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno
We became one gender.
As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
We became one faith.
As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement,
We spoke one language.
As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
We became one body.
As we mourned together the great loss
We became one family.
As we cried tears of grief and loss
We became one soul.
As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes
We become one people.
We are
ONE color
ONE class
ONE generation
ONE gender
ONE faith
ONE language
ONE body
ONE family
ONE soul
ONE people
We are The Power of One.
We are United.
We are The World

We the People,' no truer words, throughout our history, has ever meant as much to us in the Land of Liberty. 'We the People,' in tyranny's demise, brought forth Freedoms cry. Words of defiance, willfully spoke, for which we were willing to die. 'We the People,' as North and South, tore our country in two. Restitched the fabric of unity, as only a great people can do. 'We the People,' as a world at war, drew our young away. Affirmed to those who would rule us all, not here, not now, not this day! 'We the People,' too often it seems, take our roots for granted. Yet tend the soil that bares the seeds, of which our Forefathers planted. 'We the People,' must always defend, that which keeps us free. To never relinquish our Freedoms, nor forego our Liberty. 'We the People,' no truer words, embodies our legacy. The very seeds that we must tend, in the Land of Liberty. When a cruel twist of fate Turns your life around Reach inside your heart An inner strength is found Though the pain is real Just as real as your fears Both of them will fade in time Along with your many tears Family and friends surround you With their hope and love A comfort to your broken spirit A gift from God above Accept that love that they give Add their courage to your own Walk hand in hand with faith Find a power you've never known Take one small step at a time Let that power within you grow Tomorrow looks brighter than today The courage within will make it so

On the day of September 11, 2001 A heartbreaking memory was born Our country was forever changed Its security was battered and torn You may have wondered why Or heard another person ask Where was our God that day During these despicable attacks He was giving comfort to each of us And stood beside the victims too For He could not stop these evil men Or prevent what they planned to do Employees arrived at work that day Much later than they normally would He created delays and obstacles To save as many lives as He could He gave the towers enough strength To allow many thousands to escape The Pentagon was being renovated A blessing that we should appreciate The four planes were loaded lightly The numbers lower than the norm Passengers calmly called their families Others fought back in heroic form Didnt we look to Him for solace? Didnt we pray for the safe return Of those souls lost in the rubble? Of employees, police and firemen? If God was available to listen and answer All of these prayers we sent His way Dont you think we should acknowledge That He was also present on that day?
