Home > Photo gallery Photo galleryWelcome to a few photographs of our studio activities. I still have to upgrade my computer and improve my Internet connection and I will get the new photos up! Ah, technology!). Should you have concerns about the images, please contact us. We seek to ensure all persons are photographed in ways that compliment them, and not exploit them or invade their privacy. Wrap up!We've been to a few competitions this year, including Maclean in northern NSW, and Tartan Day. The year wrapped up with examinations and the barbeque and medal awarding.
The South Queensland Saint Andrew's Day Championships and competition were held over the weekend of the 24 November 2007 (organised by the Queensland Highland Dancing Association). So St Andrew's studio attended St Andrew's competition and lent a hand!
September also saw us participating at the Cancer Council's Relay for Life overnight event -- photos are somewhere! Beenleigh Gathering 2007Just south of Brisbane the Beenleigh Historical Village hosted their first annual gathering on 25 March, and we were happy to put on two demonstrations, showing our love of this sport. A great crowd and a great day.
Jessie Massie 2007Two of the school helped marshall the competition stages, while another dancer did well!
Christmas break-up 2006There was lots to do and too much to eat (the steak was tender, and Lexie's famous cheesecake mix in a gingernut cookie shell was there for all!). I don't know who won the cricket -- no one kept score any way!
Year 2006 also saw us at Easter down at Maclean (northern NSW), out to Kingaroy (2.5 hours west from Brisbane), participated in Tartan Day 2006 in June (I went to Chatham in Canada to dance near my home town instead!). Behind the scenes we also helped marshall at several competitions. Christmas break-up 2005With the school holidays and people going away, other than for private classes the studio goes into recess. To recognise the examination results of the dancers and the efforts of the helpers, we have a barbeque breakup.
The Ekka 2005The Royal National Association (RNA) or the Exhibition, known affectionately as the 'Ekka', is the State Fair for two million people. We were invited by the Show Committee to be part of the International Stage for seven sessions over four days commencing Saturday 13 August 2005. Small in number, we enjoyed the opportunity.
Tartan Day 2005International Tartan Day in Brisbane is celebrated on the Sunday closest to 01 July each year. In 2005, this was 03 July, at South Bank Parklands, South Brisbane. We did a broadswords to some modern music, Barracks Johnnie, Scottish Lilt, and of course, a massed Fling. We even joined North Brisbane studio Isle of Skye in our second bracket for another massed Fling. More photos on the Aussie-Scots web site. Great day! You should have been there.
