To focus on romance writing. Romance writing is defined as the evolving romantic relationship between a man and a woman.

There are two types of membership available: active and corresponding. Corresponding members do not attend meetings and do not have to be actively writing.

Benefits for corresponding members include:

  • Receiving Muse, SARW Inc.'s quarterly newsletter;
  • Discounted registration fee for SARW Inc.'s annual conference;
  • Discounted entry fee for Sarw Inc. competitions;
  • Ability to change to active membership whenever ready.

Benefits of active membership include:

  • Supportive environment in which to develop and grow as a romance writer;
  • Access to current industry news from UK, USA and Australia;
  • A monthly meeting that includes discussion of writing topics, goal setting, the giving and receiving of support and strategies to overcome any writing difficulties members may be experiencing;
  • Receiving Muse, SARW Inc.'s quarterly newsletter;
  • Discounted registration fee for SARW Inc.'s annual conference;
  • Discounted entry fee for Sarw Inc. competitions.

Active members must be active writers, either unpublished or published. Therefore, you must be able to prove you are currently writing. This can take many forms, from working on your latest manuscript to writing exercises.

Members should complete AT LEAST 50 000 words of a manuscript (or equivilent*) per financial year.

Discussion at meetings is confidential as members need to be free to discuss works in progress without fear.

SARW Inc. general meetings ARE NOT critique groups. SARW Inc. encourages its members to form critique partners and meet outside the monthly meetings.

All members are required to contribute to the monthly discussions.

Member participation does not cause disharmony or friction in the group, as judged by the Executive*.

*Completely at discretion of SARW Inc. Executive. Will be negotiated between Executive and Member.
