I have added new sections to give the site

Oh dear, serious lack of updates in the news
section. Well I've got some news worth reporting
for you all...
Villa sign Schmeichel - 12/07/01
Villa today signed ManYoo legend Peter "Rudolf
the red-nosed Reindeer" Schmeichel on
a one-year contract with option to a one-year
extension. Schmeichel signed on a free transfer
from Portuguise side Sporting Lisborn.
Schmeichel told SkySports:''I want to play
football. I came to the end of this season
thinking about retiring and I quickly found
out I wasn't ready to retire - I've got a
lot of football in me. When the decision's
been made to play on there's only one place
to play - and that's the Premiership. I've
always liked the atmosphere, the people and
the whole set up around the Premiership -
I consider it the best league in the world.
I want to play - I have the desire to play
and I still have the hunger to play.''
''It took me some time to get around that
(not being at Manchester United). Hopefully
people will respect my reasons. I want to
play - I have the desire to play and I still
have the hunger to play football.
''I'm under no illusions that I could play
for Manchester United again. They have the
best goalkeeper (Fabien Barthez) in the world
now and I could never come back. But I still
want to play in England so it's obviously
going to be difficult for me - and also for
a lot of people around Manchester. I still
love Manchester United - and this is no disrespect
to Aston Villa. I still love the club and
have so many fond memories of my time there,
and so many friends. I hope people respect
my decision to come back.
"But I am looking forward to playing
for Villa. It's a big club with some very
good players - players I've played with before.
I needed to see the commitment is there to
go forward and the manager has persuaded
me that is the case. For me it's the right
environment.''
John Gregory said: ''He knows this is the
best league in the world - and he has got
a big reputation to live up to. He has given
Sporting Lisbon two good years and has been
a major influence for them.''
''He has come here on exactly the same contract
he had at Sporting Lisbon. We are delighted
he has chosen to come here for football reasons,
rather than financial ones.
''It's evident that the people that have
left our club have left for the money - but
that's life and people do that kind of thing.
Who's to say other players won't do that
if they're at liberty to leave? But he wants
to prove to the world what a fantastic goalkeeper
he is. He is fit and desperately keen to
have one last hurrah in the Premiership.
He would not be coming here unless he was
confident of keeping that reputation intact.''
''We've done exceptionally well to keep it
all quiet. It was very cloak and dagger and
it was good fun - but we've shown our hand
to the world now."
