With the paradox that exists in
developing countries between the very rich & the
very poor, Saray Church started a special weekly meeting
to the urban poor.
Our hope is to integrate them into the main
stream of the community.

We started in a home
,then as the group increased they moved to a church
hall, now they meet in the sanctuary, because they are
150 women plus their children.
There is a sermon every tuesday and a
lot of Gospel songs.

We discovered the
high rate of illiteracy among them, so we had some
classes, using CEOSS material to teach literacy.
We also developed some classes for
sewing as we provided some sewing machines.
And finally we moved from charity to
development, and we did so through creating a Loan
Program. Some women were empowered by this program by
buying and selling fruits and vegetables, or by raising
chicken.
We also had to solve their
medical problem, that is why we founded the "Center
for Healing & Hope Clinic". It is not far
from where they live and it serves them with a very good
health care for a symbolic fees .
