�All right, I�ll go check but it�s probably nothing.� Sully and Michaela quickly put some clothes on and tiptoed their way downstairs. Michaela was tightly holding on to Sully�s arm. When they got closer to the bottom they could hear footsteps and Michaela squeezed Sully�s arm so hard that he let out a low yelp. �I�m sorry� she whispered. Sully turned to look at her and smile. She looked so beautiful when she was scared. They followed the sound of the footsteps into the kitchen and when they opened the door they found Hank and Helene. �What are you doing here?� They all asked in unison. �We thought you were in Boston on your honeymoon.� Hank asked with a grin on his face. �Oh umm we had a change of plans.� �Now, what are you doing here?� �Well your neighbors thought they heard some strange noises and called Katherine. She was worried that someone had broken in and we told her we�d come by and check� �Now that we�ve seen who the burglars are I think we can leave.� �Please don�t tell anyone we�re here, we don�t want anyone to know.� �Don�t worry about a thing. You two just enjoy your honeymoon.� Michaela and Sully watched Hank and Helene walk out the door. After the door had closed they began to laugh. Sully turned to Michaela and held out his arm. �Michaela I think you hurt my arm when you pushed me off the bed.� �I�m sorry, it�s just that I was getting a bath ready, I heard someone at the door and I got scared.� �Where exactly does it hurt?� Sully pointed to his elbow. Michaela took his arm and kissed him where he had pointed. Sully then pointed to his shoulder and told Michaela it also hurt. Michaela gave Sully a knowing smile and went along with his little game. It didn�t take long for Michaela to forget all about her bath and allowed herself to be carried to their room. Chapter 3 �Mama, when is Sully coming back?� Brian asked Charlotte as she was tucking him into bed. �I don�t know Brian, I suppose they�ll be back in about two weeks.� �Why did they have to go away anyway? Why do they want to be alone?� �Well, maybe they just want to spend some time together. You know kind of like when you want to spend time with just me.� �Oh, but they will be back right mama?� �Yes dear they�ll be back. Now go to sleep.� �O.K. G�night mama.� �Good night Brian. I love you!� Charlotte pulled the covers up to Brian�s chin and kissed his forehead. �I love you too mama.� Brian let out a huge yawn and was in a deep sleep before Charlotte left his room. Charlotte stood at the doorway and looked at her youngest son. Brian had indeed become very fond of Sully. ~ ~ ~ Sully felt Michaela stir next to him and he turned to see his beautiful wife. A smile had formed on her face and he figured she was having a dream. He loved the way she laid her head on her hands. She was the most beautiful creature on earth. Her skin was glowing and the sound of her steady breath enthralled him. |
