The other nurses had also managed to convince Helene to go have dinner with them.  They didn't want to be there when Ashley and Hank arrived at the restaurant, so they told Helene that they would meet her there and that reservations had already been made in her name.  What she didn't know was that the nurses had arranged it to where she would be seated at Hank's table.

Helene arrived at the restaurant and gave the hostess her name, and was led  to a secluded table.  Her heart raced as she saw Hank sitting there.  "What's he doing here?" she asked herself. She couldn't believe he was there. The candle light danced in his hair and she saw a twinkle in his eyes.

Hank looked up when he saw the hostess approach his pulse began to race when he saw Helene.  She looked so beautiful.  She had on a red dress that hugged her form and revealed every curve in her body, and her hair hung down in soft curls. He had never seen her look that beautiful.  Hank was oblivious to anything else going on around him.  He hadn't even noticed that Ashley had not returned from the powder room.

They shared a nice quiet romantic dinner.  Not a single word was spoken.  Hank couldn't keep his eyes off Helene and he even caught her staring at him a few times. They had just finished their desert when the most beautiful song began to play.  Helene listened carefully and then looked at Hank saying, "This is my favorite song in the whole world."

Hank stood from the table and extended his hand out to Helene.  "May I have this dance?"

Helene gave him a shy smile and took his hand.  They began to dance as their eyes met.  With every step they took the space between them began to slowly diminish.  Helene could feel Hanks warm breath by her ear and looked up at him.  Hank looked into her beautiful brown eyes and leaned in for a kiss. The kiss sent tingles all throughout Helene's body.

Chapter 9

A small smile spread across Helenes face when the kiss broke.  She looked into Hanks eyes and saw something that wasnt there before.  There was a softer look in them.

Helene

Oh Hank, you dont know how long Ive been wanting for this to happen. She rested her head on his chest as they continued to dance.  Hank wrapped his arms tight around her and his nostrils were filled with the sweet fragrance of lavender.

Since the first time he saw Helene, he had been attracted to her.  Every day they spent together he found he loved being with her.  Her smile always cheered him up and made all of his worries go away.  It had taken them a while to get to this point, but it had been worth the wait.

~ ~ ~

Charlotte and the kids left after they helped Michaela and Sully finish unpacking, and joined them at her parents house for dinner.  Michaela kept replaying the conversation she had had earlier with Charlotte. Sully saw that something was bothering her and made a note to ask her about it when they were alone.

Throughout dinner Michaela observed the way Sully interacted with the children.  There was no doubt that he had formed a special bond with them, especially with Brian.  They seemed to have formed a very unique relationship from the very start.  Even though they shared a bond, she wasnt sure how Sully would feel about taking them in if anything were to happen to Charlotte.

Michaela and Sully headed home after dinner and Sully noticed that Michaela was unusually quiet.

Michaela?

Hmmm?

Whats the matter?

Nothing, I suppose Ive just got something on my mind.

You know you can tell me anything dont you?

Michaela heard the sincerity in Sullys voice.  They pulled up to the driveway and before they went inside Michaela asked Sully to join her in the porch swing.  Sully sat next to Michaela and wrapped his arm around her.  Michaela rested her head on his shoulder and let out a deep sigh. Sully kissed the top of her head and gave her shoulder a slight squeeze.

Sully

Yeah?

I had a talk with Charlotte today.

Uh huh
