Suzi-Q
February 2004
Four months old?
Yes, I have added a third birdie to my family.  She's called Suzi-Q, offered by my friend Amanda and her mother.  They felt their house, with four people and two dogs, was too much for her.  She was a little shy after the trip from Tennessee, but is now settled in and has begun training.

I think that Suzi is a yellow-face dominant pied violet, but I'm still doing some research on it.  The pictures with the flash make her look turquoise or sky blue, but the picture there on the left is what her true color looks like.

She is in a small cage for now until she is comfortable enough with Patrick to move in with him.  He is quite excited about the whole prospect.  He thinks he is quite a stud!  He sings and bops and follows her around on the floor, realizing she can't fly because of her clipped wings.  They preen and bill each other in a way that makes your heart just melt.  He even tried to mount her already but she made it clear she didn't put out on the first date!

Such a pretty purple-blue!
Mom, I'm trying to have a nap here, do you mind?
Well, all right, just one more, then can I play with Patrick?
Tell me about your pets!
