Sarah Slean, Canada's sweet-voiced young songstress, has a bunch of dates planned for her summer touring schedule. Slean will hit all the provinces west of Ontario, starting her gigs off in Buffalo, NY at the Art Voice Street Festival.
Slean will be touring in support of her newest album, Night Bugs, which was released earlier this year. It's her second full-length album, but just the latest offering in a strong body of work for a 24-year-old woman.
Slean has been gigging around Toronto and the rest of Canada since she was 17 years old. She started off unusually strong for a new artist, especially an independent one. Both of her indie releases were gobbled up by the record buying public, selling over 15,000 copies. Since then she's had songs in all the right places, including Dawson's Creek, Felicity and feature film Joy Ride.
Slean has been known to work with fellow Canuck Hawksley Workman, who helped her out with the production of Night Bugs. She also cites Tori Amos and Jeff Buckley as inspiring some of the music on the album.
Here are the dates, according to Slean's website.
