About

Okay, so this is the all about me bit. My chance to tell you everything about myself. But, where to start?

Do you really want to know that I’m the eldest of 4 children (I have 3 younger brothers) and that I am a perfect example of someone with eldest child syndrome? By this I don’t mean that I was the perfect child. But anytime I did something wrong, I’d spend my time worrying about what my parents would say if they found out!

After a bit of a shaky start academically – like, I was always in trouble at school, couldn’t quite get to grips with the conforming lark – I went back to study when I was twenty-one, after working as a secretary for a few years. But I made up for it and became a bit of a qualification slut – now having a social science degree, a post-graduate certificate of education (so I can teach), a doctorate in educational management, and a qualification in human resource management.

I even worked in education, lecturing, for a number of years. But all the time I was never content. I knew there was something missing, just didn’t know what. Until I discovered writing.

I wasn’t one of those people who wrote from being a small child. I did read though. Always been an avid reader. It took me a few years of thinking about writing to actually starting. But now, I wouldn’t do anything else. And I never get bored doing it!

And I live in the most perfect place ever to write. I moved to New Zealand from the UK several years ago, with my husband and two children, and after working at a university for three years left to work in our motel and devote more time to my writing. I wish I’d done it sooner!

In my spare time I love going to the movies, watching TV, walking, spending heaps of time on msn or Myspace and playing with our gorgeous Labrador.

And, that’s about it. If I think of anything else to tell you I’ll add it later. And if you want to know anything just let me know!
