| David Schwimmer was born on November 12th, 1966 in Queens, New York. But he was raised in the southern California. He went to the Beverly Hills high school. He went Chicagos north western University to become a lawyer (tradition in his family), but got more comitted to acting. He gained a lot of stage-experience in the Chicago theatre. In 1989 he made his first attemt to break into Hollywood when he was cast as a killer fot the tv-thriller "A deadly silence", but this was an unpleasant experience, so he returned back to Chicago. He also starred in several tv-series, but especially after "Monty" in 1993 he swore to himself to never star in a comedy show anymore In 1994 he accepted the role of Ross Geller in FRIENDS, it was especially written for him. He even earned an Emmy nomination for best outstanding actor in a comedy serie.People loved the character "Ross" and so he became big star. Until FRIENDS he only could play small roles in films, but now he got lot of offers. He played in " Pallbearer", with Gwyneth Paltrow. This character was lot like Ross. He wasn`t very successful with his films... but even though he got a seven digit contract with Miramax, which doesn`t only allow him to star in several pictures he even can direct them He lives in Los Angeles, but he also has a studio in Chicago. He owns a theatre there, where he supports unknown actors. His current girlfriend is Mili Avital, who he meet during the shooting of "Kissing a fool". |
