The Devil Wears Plether
The Gobin King, played by David Bowie, has many parallels to the Devil throughout this film. Everything from his clothing to his voice causes a fear in many of the other charaters. One common theme that is consitant throughtout is seduction. Some Chrisitans beleive the Devil uses many tools to lure us into his path. Seduction is one of the tools used prdominatly by the Goblin King in order to keep the child. He seduces Sarah in a dream state, in hopes that she may forget her task at hand. Although she enjoys her drug induced fantasy, she quickly realizes that it is a trap and escapes. Once she escapes, she finds herself in a dump where a kind old goblin brings her to a replica of her room in hopes to distract her with her material possesions. Distraction is also used to prevent Sarah's goal from being reached. Everywhere she turns she has a distraction, temptaion, of trap to overcome which has all been orchrastrated by the evil Goblin King.
