The Forbidden Fruit
The theme of forbidden fruit is evident in both christianity and "The Labyrinth". Sarah is offered a poisioned peach to distract her from reaching the castle in time. She chooses to eat the peach out of desire to cure her hunger and by doing so she is locked into a dream state created by the Goblin King. The Goblin King, Jared, uses Sarah's desire just as the snake suduces eve with an apple.
