The Sapphic Sentinal Staff consists of hard-working, diverse, intelligent, and dedicated individuals who volunteer their own time to bring to life a newspaper that represents our community.
Sena Hussain - Editor
Sena founded The Sapphic Sentinal in July of 2006, and has been editing it since.  With a background of working as an editor of her high school paper, writer for her university paper, and a BA in Psychology, she seemed destined to do work within a journalistic setting.  Sena also performs as drag king Sammy Tomato with her troupe, DKUnited, performs in a Taqwacore Punk band called Secret Trial Five, and is engaged to be married.
Inika Arentsen - Assistant Editor, Writer

Inika helped co-found
the Sapphic Sentinal as the editors right hand woman and assistant editor. She loves correcting grammar and has a special pet peeve when it comes to incorrect subject-verb agreement, so much so that Inika is currently working as an ESL instructor. Inika comes to us with a degree in Womens Studies with a minor in Sociology which means she basically bitches about social issues all the time. She also thinks she has a flair for gardening and has a wee bit of a swearing problem when provoked. Oh yeah, and she adores her dog and fiance.

Roberta Scarlett - Writer, Photographer

Roberta has been a volunteer writer and photographer since the third issue of
the Sapphic Sentinal. She just recently moved to Vancouver from Toronto in July 2006. Although her area of expertise is accounting, her true passion is writing.  She's volunteered and written articles for Adult Entertainment Magazine, based in Toronto and has written short stories for several online fiction ezines.  She is a passionate activist and advocate for social change and a member of eNDProhibition.
Tina Tew - Writer/Musician

Tina is a trombonist/accordionist turned writer who would do anything for
the Sapphic Sentinal founder if gently coerced.  Having recently escaped the pressures of her previous musical endeavors, Tina is currently spending her time schmoozing in the hopes of becoming The Secret Trial Five's new melodica player.  She lives a life dedicated to social change and musical expression.
Ashley Dunne - writer, comicker, photographer, etc.

Ashley is a wannabe novelist/librarian/performer, and an actual writer for
The Sapphic Sentinal. She recently graduated from UBC with a BA in English, with Honours. During her time at UBC, she became addicted to writing articles and comics for publications on campus. Not looking to quit the habit anytime soon, Ashley is excited to contribute to this rockin' rad newsmag any way she can.
Diana Murphy - writer, chef, explorer, and generally opinionated person

Working by day in a software company, Diana moonlights as a roving reporter and writer for
the Sentinal. With a BA in English & History, as well as post-secondary teacher training, Diana has been nurturing her social conscience and the ability to express it for many years now.  The Sentinal is her ideal outlet for that passion and enthusiasm.  Whilst most readily inflamed by social issues to set pen to paper, she has been known to write fiction and poetry.  Feeding her passion for language and education, she also teaches ESL in her spare time.  Other infatuations include cuisine, travel, her dogs & cats, and her sexy fiance.
Missy Clarkson - Writer/Ombudsman

Missy dresses hair and herself, and is honoured to be a part of
the Sapphic Sentinal crew.  She also writes for, edits and shamelessly plugs  Memewar Magazine, sings in the  Vancouver Bach Choir and is in a fledgling dragbershop quartet which may or may not be called Barber-Q.
