| Who does all of this? Just about all of this is done by one man, Rick Studstill. Tho he does get help from family and friends. How many years has he been doing this? The first time was about 20 years ago. All of this started with a larger then life sleigh that has long been retired. Click here to find out more! How many lights are there? There are over 35,000 lights tho we don't keep an exact count. How long does it take to set-up? Set-up time takes a week to a week and a half. Preparing to start set-up can take several months of painting, repairs and light replacement. How long does it take to take it down? Taking it down is much faster. Most can be taken down in a day and the whole display can be removed and gone in two days. How large of a storage unit does it take to keep all of this? Believe it or not it ALL is stored in a 12 X 24 storage shed. And no, the larger pieces such as the ferris wheel and swing do not come apart. What does it cost to run all of this for a month? Yes, all of this does run up some bills. Here are a few of the basics. -$200 in electric to run the display for one month. -$75 a year in bubbles. -$1,000 a year average in light replacements. Other major costs involved also include all the movement motors that run much of the displays which average $275 - $350 a piece. |
