Psychiatric diagnosis in attempted suicide; Baby et al , Calicut Medical Journal 2006;4(3):e2:

• Participated in the Medical data base searching course conducted by the Bradford District care Trust at Bradford Royal Infirmary on 24 May 2005. The course gave me hands on experience on searching and finding accurate data from the data bases like Medline, Psychinfo.

AUDIT EXPERIENCE

• Adherence to safety first appointment in a Psychiatric hospital.2006

• I did an Audit on Physical examination of Psychiatric admissions in Airedale General Hospital; West Yorkshire aim was finding whether Physical examinations are properly recorded in the case notes of Psychiatric inpatients after their admission. The Audit found that in more than 50 % of the case notes the recording was not proper, the recommendation was the use of printed format for physical examination recording.

• As part of the study on attempted suicide patients, I did an Audit on Psychiatric referral rate of attempted suicide patients and found that only 65% of the attempted suicide patients are referred to a Psychiatrist.
