My father Bhanu Prasad Gupta was born in the Hazaribagh district of Bihar. After his graduation in Electrical Engineering he joined All India Radio in 1972 and worked there for 27 long years as an Engineer till his death. He served AIR at five locations during his career. Very simple, sincere, down to earth  but short tempered person (I still remember some of the crispy slaps), fought too hard for our education, and only due to his personal efforts and hard work both of us brothers got selected for engineering colleges. His short temperedness mellowed down with time. 

He died on 22-July-1999 due to cardiac arrest at Guwahati, Assam.

My Mother

My mother Urmila Gupta is a housewife. A very simple lady and a fantastic cook. Words are inadequate to describe her so I will stop here.

My parents got married in 1974. 

My Brother

My younger brother Vikram Kumar Gupta was born on 11-April-1978 at Ranchi. He was never a good student till the 9th standard but topped all the Classes since then. A gold medallist Civil Engineer from BIT Sindri is presently working with a consultancy firm Engineers India Limited and is currently posted at Delhi.

Although I am the eldest son of the family I never cared for my family either in my college days or after I was in the job. After my father's death I knew what responsibility is? I try to be sincere with my family, my mother and my brother, but unfortunately I am not up to the expectations.
