We don't. In fact, very few groups do. We'd like to, but they are expensive. VERY expensive.

Thermal imaging systems are among the ultimate paranormal research tools, and can be used to great effect in all four branches of paranormal science. This is a large camera system, usually including a sensor unit, battery pack and recorder, than can detect the heat emitted by objects and creatures. This device has produced some of the most compelling and intriguing evidence of paranormal phenomena that has been captured so far.

Most of these cameras can detect temperature changes of less than a degree, and display that data in a visual format. The vast majority are digital and can be quickly downloaded for closer examination, and almost all have their own viewscreen to monitor what you're seeing. Like thermographs, they detect the temperature of an object, but can also detect significant temperature changes in the open air. They can also detect the temperature changes when an apparition is manifesting itself, despite the apparition not being visible to the naked eye.

The cheapest thermal camera I have seen was just over $2,000, and the top-of-the-line models run in excess of $30,000 dollars. However, if you are one of the few people who have three or four grand just lying around, this is definitely the thing to spend it on. If not, start saving. By the time you can afford it, the current top-models will be obsolete and much cheaper. We look forward to using one in the next decade or so.
