| "Warren Anderson, from Australia, needs a Hand...." (editor's note: I met Warren via the (OLD old) Harvard Neuroweb Forum back in January of '96... I think he was blown away that he could find others with Moebius via the internet, within minutes!!! Anyway, Warren came to the '96 conference in New York, and became instrumental in getting the Australian Moebius group started. He even braved Knott's Berry Farm (southern California) and had a World's Famous Chicken Dinner. Lot's of 'old-timers' from that OLD forum remember 'wozza'...) Warren writes: "I need a hand. I have fowarded a email to you from a teacher in Australia named Janice who is seeking information on a child they have with Moebius Syndrome.... Kind regards Warren PS - I wish i had found the secrets to the 11 herbs and spices." OK parents and others.... here is the letter from the teacher of a child with Moebius. Put on your thinking caps and help her... "Hello I am a teacher at a Sydney school and I need information on this syndrome. I have read the web site with the basic information but what I am seeking is the 'how to teach and encourage learning' in this particular child within our school as none of us are familiar with this syndrome. He has problems with his midline, speech and of course gross motor and fine motor skills. It apears he has some form of intellectual disability as well. Can you offer any advice or support? We are in Western Sydney. Janice" [email protected] |
| "Jenny Halverson - New Webmaster" (editor's note: Jennifer Halverson put Moebius on the 'national map' when she was selected last year as one of the 'national youth leaders' to attend a national leadership conference for youth with disabilities, sponsored by the White House. Read more about Jenny HERE) "Hi everyone, I am looking into putting up a Moebius web page for those interested/ are involved with the Wisconsin chapter of the Moebius Foundation. If you have any suggestions on what you would like/ should be included on the web page...please let me know! Also, I can get some help with this, but those of you with web pages already, how did you set it up (and did it cost anything?) Thanks for whatever information you can provide! Jenny Halverson" [email protected] |
