The way things are viewed interprets your thoughts and feelings. This simple little eye test is a great example. Which line is the longest ?

Are things Spinning out-of-control? Focus is the key to unlocking the brakes to stop the spin. Try watching the light by going into the colors, the rotation, the rhythm, and focus on relaxing with every turn and flash.

"Quick Tricks to a Clearer Thought"

Before calling it a night, jot down 5 things/task to do the next day (begin with the most difficult): You will Sleep Better! This also helps to set a beginning direction for a brand new day. (Coffee, for most!)


Any time is a good time to sing, but exspecially if the brain is working faster than the filing system. By sing out-load, the brain breaks the thoughts. Temporary, yes, but with enough time to reorganize most files.


"Shout-it-Out" When it's coming from every direction, at different speeds, and you're losing it: step outside, use a pillow, find a closet or run to your car and SCREAM REAL LOUD ! (If around others, you might want to warn them of your intentions.)


Spend 10 minutes or more by relaxing in a nice warm scented bathwater or a shower by candle light. The special effects in such a little room creats an atomsphere of mystical illusions.


Free style writing is very helpful to unscramble many ideas. Throw out the proper English (no caps, no periods, spell wrong, etc.. ) and write every tiny little thing you think regardless of how silly it may seem. Later, read what you wrote and it may have some hidden clues to organize those ideas or thoughts.


Once a Week - Meditate

Meditating should be required as a "fundmental tune-up" for the body and soul. It helps to clear and clean the physical being and mental thinking by focusing on relaxing technicques developed mainly by the Medical Society. These same kind of technicques are used by people who must learn to control chronical pain just to survive each day of their life. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying; And all of the above suggestions are a form of meditating.

To achieve true meditations:

  1. Pick a location that allows total concentration with NO
     interruptions.Complete Silence! (except emergencies)
     

  2. Allow atleast One hour per week and stick to it. It gets
     easier to find the time after you feel the results.
     

  3. Choose one: a picture, a candle, a spot on the wall,  
     a clock face (2nd hand),or anything to focus on. 
     

  4. Get comfatable. Drink, eat, or smoke before you begin,
     but not while meditating.

  5. Ready ? Almost,start with a thought suggestions like:
       
       You Will:
         a. feel like you have slept 10 hrs. - refresh.
         b. work at being more organized.
         c. eat a little less to control your diet.
         d. smoke less or quit.
         e. be more patience, helpful, or even learn to say No.
         f. etc....
        
         (Please choose only one suggestion to work with each
          time you meditate.)

  6. Assume the cross-legged position with the arms resting
     loosely on the knees (yogo style), focus on your picture,
     candle, etc..., and begin to softly tell your body to 
     relax every muscle, nerve, tendon, etc..., starting at the
     top and work your way down to the toes. (I personnally add
     isometric stretches.)

Eventually, you will discover what works best for you and with
practice, this goal can be reached in seconds instead of minutes.

Life is too short and you only live this life once!
