| You may ask your self: 'what the heck is Planetarion (PA for insiders)?' The answer is quite simple: it is the best real-time strategy game in the world. It is text-based and It is all about people who own a planet and are arranged in galaxies. They work togeter to dominate the game by building fleets and making combat strategies. A 'round 'of Planetarion last aproximately 4 months and cost 10 US dollar , for which you get 2 accounts, 1 for yourself and 1 for a friend. This second account given in order to get more people to play Planetarion, becauce alot of players quited the game when they heard that they had to pay. We never had to pay before, but the income from banners dropped. So the game became to expensive for the creators and employees to keep if free. There were about 160000 players from all over the world, there are only 33000 left nowadays. An also important feature is the 'alliance'. A Planetarion alliance is a group of people who want more then just work with the 25 players in their galaxy. It is nowadays a fact that you can not survive without a good alliance. That is why some friends and I founded an alliance of our own and named it the Ruthless DogKillers alliance. We came up with the idea when we were having Anatomy lessons at the universtiy. We had our ups and downs and made some friends that are with us since the beginning. (foundation in January 2001). When the the 'pay-to-play' was inplemented alot of people weren't able or didn't wanted to pay, our membercount dropped severe. This happend to all alliances and several seized to excist. The major problem was that the people who were willing to pay already were part of an alliance, this made recruitment very hard. Because of that we had no other option then to merge with another alliance: NWF. We had already worked alot with them so we knew what we were getting ourselves in to. The Insomnia PA alliance was born (in November 2001). We are still in the High Council of Insomnia and doing fine. Click here for the more (recent) news....
