| *Chapter 12* I knew the next week was going to be crazy. After the meeting I flew back to Louisville with Shannon and Jim. Shannon was especially happy for me, even though I sensed a bit of jealousy. The WWE still wasn't ready for him, but they had a storyline all set up for me. I was going to start as Jeff Hardy's valet. Him and Matt have just recently gone into singles competition, and they were wanting to pair Jeff with a diva since Matt has Lita. I'm really excited to start, my debut is in 2 weeks time. The original plan was for me to just start training and not go on TV right away. But the creative team decided that my persona would fit well with Jeff, and the timing was just perfect. Jeff couldn't wait 5 months for a valet, he really needed one now. So I will debut on Raw in 2 weeks. But until then I've got just one week left with OVW to kind of wrap things up with my character. I never did get to hold the OVW women's belt, but I wasn't really here long. When we got home, Shannon and I started packing my things. There were boxes everywhere in my apartment, which I suddenly realized would soon be just an old memory. Shannon seemed sad the entire week, it was really depressing to watch. We did stuff together every night, not knowing now long it would be before we saw each other again. Suddenly it was Friday already, which meant my last live show at OVW. I had the pre-main-event match against Donna Derring in a "pink slip" match, which meant the loser got fired. So obviously, I was set to lose, which I was ready to do with pride, and Shannon was even accompanying me ringside. After the match I cut my last promo in the ring, and left to a huge applause. It felt weird walking backstage, knowing it would never happen again. This was it. I was a little teary-eyed! Not just because I was leaving OVW, but I was off to the WWE. And I knew it was gonna be amazing. After the main event, we all had a glass of champagne and they toasted to my career. It was a great night - definitely one I'll never forget. Shannon and I walked out together, to another huge crowd of fans. I signed my last autographs as an OVW diva, and thanked the fans for all their support. There was one girl who was really nice. Her name was Lydia, and she said she had just become an OVW fan recently. She gave me a lot of compliments, which I always appreciate. So I took her name, and promised to stay in contact with her. After that, Shannon and I left for home, and our last weekend together. |
