I can't say that I know everything about them. After all... nobody really does. There are many meanings
which can be assigned to the English word "relationship." The word itself means merely a connection,
association, or involvement. There are relationships between us the humans and our entire environment.
There are connections which can be made between people and animals, relationships between people and
plants, and even relationships between people and inanimate objects such as ideas or their surroundings.
However, the word relationship has come to connote a romantic partnership between two people. Of course the truth of relationships is not limited to this one genre of association. None the less, there is something to
the connotation of relationship. While the term "relationship can be applied to any two or more objects in the universe, those connections which tend to fascinate us the most are those which involve the emotions, even
more specifically: affection. Much of art and culture focus on the bonds that are created and sustained by
our ability to feel like romance, the family, and even religion. For the most fascinating of all relationships is
the one which people have with a force they cannot fully understand. It is this relationship with the greater
being which inspires so much awe and curiosity in man and causes us to strive for a state called
