Why have you come to this place?

More importantly... how have you come?

Did you brave the wind-torn wastelands to the north, or venture through the dark glades of the forest to the south? Or perhaps you managed to crawl over the rocky crags of the mountains which fence the valley in which you now stand?

Did you manage to escape the claws and fangs of the creatures which call these mountains home? Did you slip undetected through the patrols of neighboring kingdoms which border this land? Did the hushed voices carried on the wind not ward you away?

And for what? Why have you come?

Perhaps, like many of us, you were exiled... or fled your homeland in time of war. Perhaps you are a criminal, with a death sentence hanging over you. Perhaps the lure of the unknown brought you here... the ruins of an ancient civilization jutting from the stony ground like the skeletal remnants of history... Upon which has been built the beginnings of a village... a home for the homeless... a haven for the persecuted... a refuge for the exiled...

What does it matter the why or how. You are here now, welcome or not. This is our Sanctuary. Will it be yours?
