3/22/00 - Well Well Well. It's been 2 months since I had something to gripe about... or is it because it's been 2 months since I had the drive to actually write somthing. Well alittle from column A and alittle from column B.
What's new you say!? Well AOL sucks, but we all know this. Here in the US there's an election comming up and this is like choosing the lesser of two evils, but this is not something new. So at this point you must be saying, Get to the damn point already. Well my friends... just like a Stalone movie, I have no plot. Right now I've had a few too many and I am gonna B.S. for about... 2 paragraphs.
Now where was I??? Oh yeah! AOL sucks. It is a sorry excuse for an internet service provider. Hell I don't even consider myslef 'connected' at all. Because they decide when you get on, they decide when you are supposed to get off, and they tell you how fast (or how slow) you are gonna be connected at. It can take me 25 tries to find a number that isn't busy in my area. Then if I'm lucky, I get 'connected' at oh lets say about 20k. "When maybe you should upgrade you computer SamusAran78!" Why when I have a 56k modem??? Should I be going somewhere near 56k?? Well I'm sorry SamusAran78, there's something called bottlenecking... no its not a kinky manuver a woman can do. It's called there are so many people trying to connect to a server at once... only so much info can get through at a time. Try to imagine a St.Bernard trying to fit through a little doggie door... then you might get the idea. "But we are spending millions and millions of dollars to upgrade.", they say.
"F-U" I say. "F-U" you bug filled, 20k, "You've Got Junk Mail!!", morons. I've headed to a local ISP and I treasure every freakin' minute of it. I enjoy sitting down to watch TV while downloading a 25freakinmeg file and NOT having to worry about you asking me "Are you sure you still wanna stay online?" Of course I do!!
So keep preying on the computer illiterate, and keep your mergers. But one day when everyone knows how to navagate the internet, and people wake up to your lameness... well... let's just say the fastest horses never go to the glue factories.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong... but not likely.
