| Ladies, thank you for your interest in the Miss Sigma Pi Beauty Pageant. We hope to make this a success but, ofcourse, that all depends on you. Below are a few things that might interest you about the pageant itself before you decide to sign up. All the procedes go towards a worthy charity, the Sam Spady Foundation, so the "I won't win" excuse doesn't work because when it's for charity, everyone wins. The price is a little higher than the Miss JSU or Homecoming Pageants and the prizes are smaller but this is the first year and we're starting from the ground up. The price is set at $25 per lady A scholarship will be given to the winner. The amount of the scholarship depends on the participation from you and your friends so grab your best friend and get her to sign up to. Our personal goal is $1000 but as of right now, that is just a goal. Rest assured ladies, you will receive something for your efforts. Also, the winner will receive a package to a local spa for a full day's service. As a guy, unfortunately I'm not sure what all is involved with that but it's priced at $250 so I'm sure it's a lot. All ladies entered will recieve a free photo taken the day of the pageant. You and your parents or loved ones will have an opportunity to order additional packages as well. We encourage each of you to get a sponsor for the pageant even though they are NOT required and will NOT have any pull on the final decision. Money raised from sponsors will go directly to the foundation and will allow us to possibly raise the amount of scholarship and hopefully add second and third place awards as well. To sponsor a lady in the pageant cost $200. The sponsor may be an individual, business, or any other group (i.e. sorority or fraternity). If the lady who wins is sponsored, whoever sponsored her will receive a check for $500 for our appreciation. (Sponsor must be present at the pageant to accept winnings) In addition to all of this, we are working on a way to accommidate the seniors who have interest in participating in this event. Some suggestions include a check for the amount that the scholarship was intended to be or a check for half and the other half going to her sorority or any other organization on campus. Seniors, rest assured, we will find a proper way to thank you for your hard work at JSU and your support of Sigma Pi and the Sam Spady Foundation. In addition to being the first ever Miss Sigma Pi at JSU, you will be the first ever Miss Sigma Pi in America as our national headquarters has informed us that Sam Spady Week is something that they would like to see be a national thing and the Miss Sigma Pi Beauty Pageant is the staple of the event. You will be a personal representative of Sigma Pi and the Sam Spady Foundation. As always we thank you for your continueing support throughout this process and in everything else that Sigma Pi does. If you would like more information fill free to contact Justin Davis at [email protected] or David Howton [email protected] or call at 256-225-3133. Please leave a message. It will be returned shortly. If you have any questions about how you can help support this week or the Foundation in other way, continue to look through the website and/or visit www.samspadyfoundation.org |
