S.A.M's Himmi Hangout is a small rabbitry in north eastern California.  I currently raise Himalayans in black, blue, and lilac.  I have stock coming from awesome breeders across the nation.

It all started with a visit to a rabbitry in Placer County, near Sacramento, California.  She had lots of rabbits for such a small barn!!  She gave me my first two rabbits, Moses and Goobler.  At his first show Goobler took Best Of Breed.  A very impressive achievement for a free rabbit!  I eventually sold Moses to a 4H-er to start their own Himmi line.

A neighbor, Aaron Ferchaud, had a black Himalayan doe with 8 ARBA legs (one for BIS) which he didn't have a buck to pair with.  He asked if he could use Goobler, who was then a Grand Champion and I would recieve pick of the litter in exchange.  Out of the huge litter of eight I chose a little chocolate doe that I was very attached too, even though she wasn't very promising, and I named her Noyo, after Noyo Harbor.  Noyo didn't show very well her first few shows, but I decided to take a chance and take her with me to ARBA convention.  Noyo proved herself at the 2001 ARBA Convention in San Deigo California, by first taking Youth Best Junior Himalayan, then going on to win Youth Best Opposite Sex Chocolate!!

I bred Noyo to Tennessee Tuxedo, a granded Himalayan black buck.  They had a beautiful litter of three, two blacks and one chocolate.  I sold the little chocolate to another local youth, and kept the two blacks, a buck and a doe.  I then decided to sell Noyo, she was an awesome doe, but I just didn't have the space for four varieties.  I had two of her children, and I love the blacks and blues the most.

Noyo's children proved to be as nice as she was, the black doe granding in three shows (two legs for BOB, one for BOV as a junior), the buck is beautiful as well, he has won a reserve in show, only he can never beat his sister to win a leg where there are enough rabbits to win on
Noyo and me at the 2001 ARBA Convention Purina costume contest.  I forgot to buy yellow and green puff paints to use for mustard and relish on my costume, so I asked if I could use the real stuff from the snack bar.  The staff thought it was such a funny idea they couldn't turn me down!!

Goobler and me at the 2003 ARBA Convention in Wichita in the Purina Costume Contest. What is it about a Himalayan that reminds me of food? This year Goobler was the main ingredient in a Mexican taco Plate!
