"Scott Free" 1/14/00
Scott Barringer is brought to Mt.Horizon, a school for troubled teens, against his will because of his drug use. Meanwhile, Peter Scarbrow, the director of Mt.Horizon, learns that the school is in financial trouble and is facing foreclosure by the bank. The rest of the Cliffhangers return from spending 10 days in the woods but not until Ezra falls off a bridge which makes Kat remember the death of her sister. Scott tries to run away, but gets caught, and we learn that he was seduced and molested by his stepmother.
"Babes in Arms" 1/21/00
Peter is caught beteween his ex-wife Chloe and a new flame, Sophie Becker. The students help search for Ginger's 6 year old daughter Gracie, who wandered off in the woods. Shelby is acting out terribly and must overcome the shadows of her past in ordetr to help rescue the little girl. Juliette and Shelby both try to get Scott's attention, and Juliette makes it clear when she kisses him. The child, Gracie, reminds Shelby of herself when she was once also lost and alone and there fore refuses to look for Gracie because no one looked for Shelby. Instead, she looks for mushrooms to try to drain. The end leaves the audience realizing the innocent and scared part of Shelby. FYI-We learn Shelby's been at Horizon for 8 weeks.
"Hope Falls" 3/10/00
After a student commits suicide, Frank takes the boys from the Cliffhangers to Hope Falls where his son is buried and died from a drug overdose 22 yrs. before.
"Walking the Line" 1/28/00
In order to save Mt.Horizon from foreclosure, Peter goes to New York to re-visit his troubled past. He must reconcile with his father in order ro get his help in securing a loan to save the school. Meanwhile the students are anxious about taking the PSATs and we find out that Auggie is dyslexic. Shelby also sees Auggie kiss Juliette.
"Our Strongest Link" 2/4/00
To teach the kids about teamwork, Hannah and Peter enter the Horizon squad into the Junior-Eco Challenge. The students struggle to some together as a team, and Scott gets mad as everyone slacks behind.
"What Remains" 2/11/00
Juliette falls into an uncharted cave and discovers the skeletal remains of an American Indian girl; Peter organizes a search party for her.
"Crossroads" 2/18/00
Katherine is caught in a compromising position with her boyfriend, Hank, and jeopardizes graduation from Horizon.
""World's Apart" 2/25/00
Auggie visits home. Sophie visits home, and Chloe brings her NY investors to Horizon to check out the school. Scott and Juliette break up.
"Seductions" 3/3/00
The students seek refuge in the main lodge as a violent rainstorm rocks the school. What starts as Shelby trying to take advantage of the turmoil with the storm towards Scott, turns into the past with Scott and Shelby and Scott's relationship starting to begin.
"Close Encounters" 3/24/00
Scott runs away after he finds out hos father and step-mother will visit, but Shelby tells Peter and Peter rescues him from the rapids; Scott confronts his dad about his step-mother but his dad doesn't believe him; a very sick horse takes a liking to Shelby, and the Cliffhangers nurse it back to health. At the end, Scott and Shelby's relationship continues to grow.
"Best Behavior" 3/31/00
Ezra is ecstatic when his parents arrive and appear to be getting back together. But their charade is soon exposed, and Ezra turns to his old mean-drugs-for comfort. Similarly, Juliette deals with the struggle of her mom marrying for the fifth time.
"Wherefore Art Thou" 4/7/00
Auggie runs with Juliette to protect her and gets arrested for shoplifting, and they are put on shuns when they return; Ezra and Daisy worry that their parents' problems are hereditary.
