In workplaces, computers are used with application software for many different purposes. This unit shows how such application software as word processors, spreadsheets, presentationsoftware or databases can be customised, for example to be given better interfaces to make them easier and quicker to use or more accurate and attractive.

You work as an IT support technician at South Thames College. From time to time administration and teaching staff ask you to provide customisations to their application programs.
For Example:
- Create a custom spelling dictionary entries for all the full names of the students in the class and that are not in the standard dictionary (you can easily find out which ones are not in the standard dictionary by typing in all the names and seeing which ones come up as spelling errors. Provide evidence of custom dictionary created by using screen prints. (P2)
- Add the students full names to the AutoCorrect, provide evidence of adding to autocorrect using screenshots.(P2)
