BOTTOM LINES
Bottom line behaviors are any self-destructive, suicidal, or emotional acts which, once engaged in, results in worsening self-destructive consequences.  Each person defines his or her own bottom line behavior.  Staying away from this behavior defines your sobriety.
Examples of Bottom lines:
1. I will not attempt suicide --- I will call a group member before acting on a suicidal impulse.

2. I will not ' stockpile ' drugs, weapons, ropes, or other tools for sucide -- I will call a group member if I feel the need to do so.

3. I will not allow myself to fantasize about the relief I believe suicide will give me -- I will call for support.

4. I will call for support if I find myself starting to make a plan.

5. I will call for support if I begin to fell trapped, angry, or afraid.

Your bottom line behavior will probably change as your progress in your recovery.
